Help and guidance
How to verify a document issued by the college, and what to do when something does not match.
For employers, universities and agencies
- Ask the candidate for the original marks card or certificate, or a clear scan of both sides.
- Scan the QR code on the document, or type the number printed on it together with the College Roll No.
- Compare the name, programme and examination shown on the portal with the document. They must match exactly.
- To see the marks, enter the security code (Verification Code) printed beside the QR code.
- Print the result page or save it as PDF. It carries a verification reference and the date and time of the check.
If the document is not found, or your organisation needs an official letter, submit a verification request. The Examination Office checks the original records and replies with a signed verification letter, which can itself be verified on this portal.
For students
- You do not need to do anything for your documents to be verifiable. Every marks card from the 2023 batch onwards carries a QR code, and the college is adding the registers of older marks cards.
- Share your security code only with an organisation that needs to see your marks.
- If a document shows as cancelled or not found and you believe this is wrong, contact the Examination Office with your College Roll No.
Marks cards issued before 2023
These cards have no QR code. They carry a Sl No printed on the sheet. Type that Sl No with the College Roll No. on the "Verify a marks card" page. The portal confirms the card against the college's marks card register; it does not show marks for these cards. For marks, or for an official letter, submit a verification request.
Reporting a suspected forgery
Genuine documents open only on verify.stphilos.ac.in. If a QR code opens any other address, or the details on the portal differ from the document, please write to the Examination Office with a copy of the document. The details are given at the foot of this page.
